1. Skilled Independent (subclass 189) Visa:
This permanent visa, offered through SkillSelect, allows skilled workers to live and work in Australia as permanent residents. Applicants can apply from both inside or outside Australia. To apply, you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) online and be invited to apply. You must nominate a skilled occupation listed on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MTSSL) and complete a full skills assessment. You must also meet the points test with a minimum score of 65 points. The applicant should be under 45 years old at the time of application and must demonstrate competent English skills.

2. Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) Visa:
This visa allows skilled workers nominated by an Australian state or territory government to live and work as permanent residents. Similar to the Skilled Independent Visa, applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and receive an invitation to apply. Additionally, applicants must meet the state’s specific requirements for nomination and usually commit to living and working in the nominating state for at least 2 years. The applicant must nominate a skilled occupation from the MTSSL or the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL), complete a full skills assessment, and meet the points test with at least 65 points. Applicants should be under 45 years old and possess competent English.
